B&W Patriot Hitch

We have been Montana dreaming for years now and just woke up with one in the driveway. My question for you guys is, have you had any experience with the B&W patriot hitch. The price seems almost to good to be true, but I know that many of you have had great luck with the B&W companion. I would appreciate any input you could pass along as we would like to upgrade from the Husky 16k that we are currently using.

From the pictures, it looks to be the same design, same latching mechanism as the Companion. It appears to have two pieces, making it possible to be removed from the bed by one person. The only difference is that it attaches to in-bed-mounted rails instead of the the Turnover Ball receiver.

If I needed a hitch, and were okay with bed rails, I would sure go for it based on my experience with the Companion Hitch. B&W has also provided outstanding service after the sale.

I believe the B&W Patriot has a different load rating then the Companion.

That is correct the companion is a 18K hitch while the patriot is a 16k hitch, but the design and hitch mechanism operates the same. If 16K is adequate for your trailer, I think it is a good hitch at a great price.

Thanks for your input. From what I have read it seems to be a great deal, and great hitch. Now I just need to put the new Monty as close to 90 as possible and see if I can live without a slider.

If you need a slider I would recommend SuperGlide from Pullrite. It is automatic and you never have to worry about hitting the cab. Good luck
