MaxBrake

I'm just added disk brakes and looking changing my brake controler to MaxBrake (http://maxbrake.com/brake-controller.php) has any body had any experence with them. They look good but cost about $350.

I just bought one but have not installed it yet (too cold and there is white stuff on the ground that fell from the sky). I hope to get it installed as soon as it warms up a little bit. I have only heard positive things about the controller.

We've had our Max Brake for well over a year and have disc brakes. We just love ours. Diana

I just received my MAXBRAKE controller today and installed in about 2 hours with no trouble. Will be towing Monday 3/1. Will let you know how it works.

I just towed 300+ miles with the Maxbrake worked great. I would recommend it to any one.

The disk brakes kit was from Mor-Ride cost about $2000 and I installed then myself, took with help about 2 days. The main problem was the stud sizes on my ele brake hobs was 1/2-20 and disk brake hob was 9/16-18. I was lucky that I new mechein shop in the area and I went there and rework my log nuts. The MaxBrake cost $350 with free 2 day shipping from Southwest Wheel Co. I innstalled it in about 2 hours. I love the new set-up, you don't feel and difference for truck braking and trailer braking.

Just installed Max Brake myself this past weekend. All the difference in the world compared to Prodigy. Just seamless and stops better! Airbags, Max Brake, Airborne Sidewinder on a Ford 250....I'm in heaven!

Did the shop just press out the 9/16 and press in 1/2 studs or was there more involved?

I had a Max Brake installed just before heading south and it is great. I only had the truck for about two weeks before leaving so I didn't have a chance to compare the integrated brake controller
but I can't imagine any thing better than the Max Brake.

I taped the 1/2" studs to 9/16 studs.
