Batteries Not Charging?

2019 3121RL previously after setup I always view my Lippert control panel digital read out showing battery when plugged in and it has always shown 13.2

I just drove 1400 miles over 3 days and setup, plugged in and as usual viewed the digital read out to confirm batteries were charging. It reads only 12.1 so I pulled out my meter and confirmed 12.1 at batteries. Not receiving a charge.

I maintain/check battery fluid levels monthly, battery cut off switch is on, invertor battery disconnect switch is off, I checked all 12v fuses, and breakers do not appear tripped but then again I do not really know which breaker it is using??

I read an older forum on checking if convertor is actually working in power panel. So I removed panel, pulled the 4 reverse polarity fuses as it said and checked the output at the positive and negative terminals on panel from converter and it reads 13.6. If I did this correctly?

I assume that it is working but not sure where to go from here? Does this feed to the front 50 amp auto reset breaker? I am just not familiar with how his system truly works?

Any suggestions where to check from here would be greatly appreciated.

The large red wire should go back to the battery first thru the battery disconnect switch and then thru one of the auto reset circuit breakers. If you are measuring charging voltage at the red wire and not at battery positive terminal, then check both sides of the auto reset circuit breaker. If you do not have charging voltage there then check the voltage at both sides of the disconnect switch.

3 year old battery should be good, but also could have gone bad and pulling the voltage down. Might take it in to auto parts store for load testing.

This is borrowed from another Thread but may help you follow the 12V current flow.

============================
Here is some info from a previous discussion of a similar problem.

The 12V flow from the converter to the batteries is pretty straight forward. As others have pointed out, here are the places to look. All connections should have 13.5 +/- Volts if the converter is working.
  • The converter is part of the power distribution panel -Ensure the CB for it is On
  • There are Reverse Polarity Fuses on the converter which protect against connecting a battery backwards. - Ensure they are not blown.
  • Check the output voltage at the converter. - it should be in the 13.5V DC range.
  • The power then runs to the Disconnect Switch in the Convenience Center. - Ensure the Red Key is in the position where it can *NOT* be removed. If removed, this interrupts the power charging the battery. The Disconnect Switch is not know to fail, but you can remove it to check there is power in and out of it just to be sure.
  • The power next flows to the group of 50 amp self-resetting CBs behind the battery. We all know about the one that hiccups and interrupts the hydraulic system. That one also passes power to/from the converter and batteries. You want to check it and it's brother (it is in the current flow to the battery) to ensure there is 13.5V on *EACH* side of the CB.
  • The last connection is the one from the 50 amp CBs to the batteries. Ensure you have clean connections and the cables are not corroded (watch out for internal corrosion under the shrink wrap).
Somewhere along this path there will be the problem. A simple VOM should find it. I hope this helps.

The full blown discussion is *Here* The most common causes are :
o - the Battery Disconnect Switch in the convenience center is in the wrong position (the Red Key should be in the position where it can't be removed)
o - The red plastic covered self resetting 50 amp circuit breakers behind the battery have failed. __________________

Update:

I did follow the above instruction from Carl, had 13.6 in and out of battery shut off switch, had 13.6 into resettable breaker but only 12 coming out. I installed the backup breaker I had and bingo all batteries are charging again, all is well. My previous reading of 13.2 at the Lippert Panel is back as it should be. Thank you for all the assistance it is greatly appreciated. Happy Easter!!
