Hi from Va

New to the Montana scene. House fire in June and a 4.5 month journey of dealing with alternative living arrangements has brought us to our new adventure of being Montana owners. Short story of it .... insurance company put us in 37 foot TT, one step above a fema trailer but it worked for a bit. Going to be another year to rebuild so we needed something bigger and warmer. Had the insurance company buy us out of the living expenses that were costing them and put that money towards a unit of our own. Had a contract on a 2021 Bighorn 3870, but went to pick it up from CW yesterday and it wasn’t the rv we thought it was. ( longer story for another time). Ended up reshopping and fell in love with a lightly used 3820FL. Pick it up tomorrow.
We show horses in a Merhow 8316 so we’re experienced rv’ers. Just getting used to the full timing though. We hoping that we’ve found the right unit to do it in.

Great unit

That's a great layout. We had one and just loved it. The front kitchen is perfect for long term living. Hope it serves you well and you are happy.

Nice layout, you'll love that front kitchen. Congrats ... in the midst of disaster ... you are on a new "happy path". Enjoy the journey. It's a fabulous ride!

We’re in Culpeper, 40 minutes north of Charlottesville

Got her in the yard just 30 minutes ago. Start switching around and setting up tomorrow.

Wonderful. Enjoy your new camper.
My wife had family in Culpeper, an aunt and three cousins.

Sorry about the loss of your home. Good luck in your new Montana. Hope with the rising construction costs that your insurance comes through.

Ron, be sure you put some type of skirting under your unit for the winter temps. DO NOT use hay or straw bales because they have a tendency to attract rodents and you don't want them in that new Montana. If you need more ideas for winter living in the Monte just post here on the Forum and you'll get all kinds of suggestions and ideas. Welcome to the Forum and enjoy that Montana until you get your new home rebuilt and sorry you had to loose your previous one.

Good luck on the rebuild and your Montana. If you ever want a change of scenery just hop over the BR, there are some great campgrounds in the Valley!
