Replacing Apollo 1/2 Time Oven

In our 2006 Monty, the Apollo 1/2 Time Oven/microwave is not working very well in microwave mode. So, I want to replace it with a simple microwave. Any one have experience doing this. It appears fairly straight forward. Suggestions are welcome. I have not bought a replacement microwave and will wait until I get back to San Antonio in early October.

I have removed my several times to replace fuses and a door switch. Not difficult at all to remove. Few screws holding the bezel and then just lift out. Thank God mine is still working after all these years. (Hope I didn't just jinx it) Once removed it is easy to get the dimensions for a replacement. Give attention to the vent location before picking a replacement model. I would imagine some trim work will be necessary.

Back in the day, we all had prob, ems with the Apollo, especially the door release lever (I still have a spare somewhere). Replacement was a popular option and there were many Threads on the topic. I am sure you can find the replacements that were used then but they likely aren't current models today. Removal and install would be documented though. Ty a Search, it can't hurt.

I've replaced a couple over the years. As Jim stated just remove the old one and measure carefully and then search. The odds are you won't have to do any cabinet work. We put a Sharp micro/cov oven in our 2017 and the mounting that came with it was far superior than how the original was mounted and it fit perfectly.

Thanks for replies! Since we will do this at home and we will only go straight microwave, I will follow you advice and measure twice--cut once!
