Overnight Question

I see in the owners manual it tells you not to step on the floor of a retracted slide. While traveling is it okay to keep the slide retracted and sleep in the bed for the night? What are some other options if you are staying at a harvest host for example and you don't/can't disconnect from the truck.

You should at least be able to extend the bed slide, but if you can’t, it’s not the same as standing in a slide. There should be roller wheels underneath toward the foot of the bed that supports the weight there, and the head end of the bed should be supported on the sides. As far as not disconnecting the truck, if you can’t level the trailer, you risk damaging the fridge if it’s an RV type fridge, so that is critical that the rig be level when you’re not traveling. If you can get it level, side to side and front to rear, then you are good. Welcome to the forum.

We never disconnect the truck on a one night layover at a CG . We do lower the front jacks and get the Rv as level as we can and we do extend all the slides. We have not had a problem in 13 years and two Montana's

We have slept on a retracted bed slide many times. No problem. The head of the bed is well supported. The foot is on rollers. I did add extra rollers to the foot of the bed to help prevent gouging in the linoleum by the wheels.

Awesome, thank you all for the help. Figured it wouldn't be a problem just wanted to get more information. Headed to FL for the first big trip with a couple overnight stays.
