Where are you getting them and how much for each .. I waS looking on tire rake . com but don't see them what am i missing.

John, if you have a Discount Tire in your area, you might want to try them. They have a "Price Match" policy on line that asks you to fill out your name, email, phone number and lower price you found with an web link to the site. I did this yesterday, and within a few hours, got a call from the local Discount Tire store in my area saying they would match the on-line price. Quoted me $258 per tire. MIght want to give that a try.

Well I blow 2 tires on I 75 yesterday so had to but 2 coppers on the rd so taday i bought 2 more in ocala , the G614 were 320.00 plus and the weoldn't give me a dime for the new coppers so it would have been 1500.00 more today so i went back and now have 4 coppers LT235/85R16 with a cap of 3042 lbs ans we are close in wts as we had it weighed today also. but the dealers here in fl said 4 years on trailer tires is all you get , like it or not but the side walls break down .. so no frnders on our unit now ...sailer

John, I hate to ask, but didn't you have BF Goodrich Commercial T/A tires, and are they the tires that blew? This is the first trouble I've heard about on those if that's the case. Kind of bums me out because I just replaced my Marathons with the BF Goodrich....????

John. We usually use Coopers on our campers and have had good luck and no problems at all.

We have the General TR 235/85 R16C that we were obliged to get when we had that Axle shift problem in Michigan and that was the only tire we could find,(we ruined our Coopers) The tire load rating is 3086 at 83 PST.That is 6166 per axle Or 12332 both (that is if I had axles)At our last weigh in by RVSEF we are right at the tire load rating limit. IMO the primary argument for the G614's is they are LT tires but have a high tire load rating. My problem is that the Generals are two years old and are wearing like iron. Did a thread depth check to day and with the IS system they are showing litte wear with no wear issues at all. I would have the G614's because of the load ratings but these Generals are not wearing out

Yes we had B F Goodrich LT235/85R16 , and the stamp on the tire was showing 46 months old. we had 15000 miles on them but they looked like new. the 1st went was the driver side front tire and the road rangers in FL changed it as Good sam was out 2 1/2 hrs yet. so no spare now so we are 44 miles from Ocala where we are going and the curb side rear tire goes I had it weighed on sat and we are at the limit as the tires go to 3042 lbs each, but tire pros and 2 other dealers in Ocala said in FL they rot covered or not from the heat so now we have 4 coopers LT235/85RE16 at 3042 lbs each so hope i get 3 1/2 years on these . we will see how age is doing us by then .. i had a hard time to buy the G614 after you buy 2 new tires on the highway that they won't give you a dime for so the 1500.00 for the G614 was out of the question, i had all 4 balanced and new stems and we are up and running again and in GA for 2 nites then to the Smokies for a week. sailer

Well, the most important thing is that you guys are OK. I've been through a blowout and it's not fun. Not to mention my blowout did a lot of damage to the sheet metal behind the tire.

That is a good question. What TPMS systems are all of you using, it is something on my list but want some honest answers from experienced people, not somebody at Camping World that just wants to make the sale (not sure if Camping World even sells TPMS systems-just using them as an example)

I have read that the TPMS Camping World now sells is not that good. Maybe things have gotten better but these were the reviews by customers who had bought from CW. They used to sell other brands but you know what happens when they want to sell cheaper stuff.

The better reported brands are PressurePro, and Hawkshead. There are several other good brands used by members here so I'm sure they will post soon.

I was under the impression that Camping World was selling the Hawkshead line of monitors. Thought I remember it from the MOC, but addled mind syndrome might be setting in from the heat wave?

We have the Pressure Pro's but they are only good if you have a leak.. If you have a blow out it will scream at you but by that time, it is too late..

We have the TMPS.There is a mod that will now allow them to measure tire temp as well as pressure.It is a upgrade to the firmware that has to be done by a dealer. We had ours done at a rally.

Blowout .. A sudden and catastrophic tire failure. No Tire pressure monitor can warn of a blowout only a loss of pressure. Note that many "blowouts" were not blowouts at all but a gradual and undetected loss of tire pressure causing the tire to fail and perhaps separate from the rim. The damage caused is the same... The TMPS will alert you to the gradual loss of psi and prevent the failure.

Another highjacked thread. Getting back to the subject. I put 6K on my marathons and was a nervous wreck. I weigh 11400 at the axles. The 3040 tires are too close for my comfort zone so I went with the G-614's and now sleep sound. Peace of mind does have a price when weighing the risk factors. Just completed the Fl to Montana trip, sitting in Mountain Meadows and the 614's look real good. To each his own.

Here is what I noticed when changing from the OEM ST Missions to LT Coopers. The LT Missions ran, according to my TMPS cooler than the LT Coopers. We now have generals and they are at 83psi. They will normally heat to around 90 psi on a average summer day and have seen them as high as 93. If they got any higher I would be pulling over. My temp function is not set up. The increasing psi tells me the tires is heating and once you recognize the norm, for us around 90psi, If it gets very high you can suspect high tires temps.. The TMPS will alarm wwhen the psi goes low.
I like the G-614s because of the higher tire load rating and will buy them next time because of that.

I'm having five G614's put on my RV tomorrow, spare is number 5. I'm getting them from a commercial truck tire dealer. Each tire cost $330. All tires will be balanced, high pressure steel clamp type valve stem added so I can attach my tire pressure monitor system to valve stems. Truck dealer is giving me $75.00 each for the Marathons. They have less than 3,000 miles on them. I have heard others have purchased at Sam's Club as LT tires. Good Luck
