Brake fluid? Or was it Brake Kleen?? If you used Brake Fluid like you put in a master cylinder, You will have a problem!!!!
If it was a Brake Cleaner that comes in a spray can, then your OK.

Hope this helps,

Roy

If it was brake fluid, you will need to change the shoes and clean the drums really good or you will not have any brakes.

I went to an RV show earlier in the year. The tires on the units really looked good, when I asked the salesman what he used, his answer was, "brake fluid."

Brake flued on the pads or shoes is a no no, as other post said you might have to replace them I believe there right. I sure hope it was cleaner for your sake.

Ditto on using the fluid on the shoes. Also, I don't think it would be good on the tires to put it there either. If the fluid will actually eat the paint off your car, enamel paint, then what will it do to the tires?

Brake fluid on the tires makes them look black for about 2 weeks. Then it makes them dry and crack about ten times faster than they would have.

In short: Don't do it! Don't put it on the break shoes either!

I think he meant Brake Cleaner.

Orv, I really hope you're right! Brake fluid only has one usefull purpose that I'm aware of and it's NOT putting it on brake shoes!!

It makes the tires look great, but, as noted earlier, is not good for them.

Roger that! Brake cleaner is fine. Brake FLUID will render your brakes usless.
