Mountianeer Shock add on

I have a 2007 319bhd and wanted to add shocks to it. There appear to be no shock mounts, has anyone added shocks to this model.

Interesting. I have never considered adding shocks to a trailer. It will be interesting reading.

Tom F, I just checked out the site ARJ posted and it looks very good for what you want to do. We had shocks as an option on both our Montanas from the factory and wouldn't be without them. MOP would be to put them on!

Can't speak for the Mountaineer - ours came with them already installed; however, big boss had a Rear Kitchen cougar that bounced all over the place. Local dealer installed shocks for him and he swears difference of night to day in the quality of ride for those in the TV.

I had shocks put on a 1999 Jayco Eagle FW and a 1985 Wilderness FW. Neither had mounts. I was able to order the shocks and mounts from an rv dealer (they were intended for another model) and had a machine shop weld on the mounts. I would think a machine shop could also fashion the mounts as well as mount them.

Tom I put shocks on my 2004 Mountaineer, ordered them from Dexter and a friend brought his welder over to weld the brackets to the 10" I-beams at a 55 deg. angle. Check out the photo`s on link below.

Thanks for the pictures, After you installed the shocks did it make a differance in the feel of the TV or how well loose items road in the 5er.

Tom, After I installed the shocks I took the 5er down the highway that was under construction and put a small tupperware cup full of water in the sink and it was still full when I returned home. The cupboards are not as messy after a trip, tall plastic glasses still fall over, but I don`t have to tie down the kitchen chairs anymore. I am very happy with the results and Keystone should make shocks standard on every 5er
