Sluggish Toilet?
The fresh water flow on flushing on our Thetford toilet has slowed to not much more than a trickle in our '05 2955RL. Any easy fixes, or is this a tear down to clean the valve? Suggestions or guidance appreciated. We're in PEI Canada exploring w/o much access to dealer assistance. Thanks!

Chris, we just had this problem. It was sediment in the water, we think from our fresh water tank. We use a whole house filter when attached to a water supply but probably didn't use it everytime when filling our fresh water tank. The particles eventually make it to the outlet in the toilet and have to be loosened somehow. There is also a valve in the back that needs to be cleaned. Try a search as we just discussed this subject and there were some great ideas.

We just had to clean the valve too. It was a piece of cake. Bill had it fixed in five minutes. Well maybe ten.

Got the valve cleaned, but I made a simple job way to hard. Just remove the toilet after turning off the water and disconnecting the waterline. Remove the valve, and blow out or rinse the outlet side! Had sawdust or debris in mine. Working much better now. Thanks again folks!!!

I have a 2004 2955 and we have had a problem with the toilet water running very slow. The easy way to fix the problem is to unscrew the water line at the toilet and take a Q-tip and run it around the inside of the fitting that is attached to the toilet. I have also inserted a 1/8 inch drill bit and cleaned the orfice and then used a Q-tip. You will always find calcum or saw dust in this area if the water is running slow.

Sounds like great suggestions, Laura. We cleaned ours out in a similar way (banging on the commode, as I recall ) and it has been working great. Thanks for your ideas.
