The TerraWind......amphibious RV

Got a spare million dollars?...see the world's first luxury Amphibious Motorhome/bus called the "TerraWind". You gotta check out the website and see the picture of it in the water.
http://www.terrawind.com

Here's some information from the site:
Operating the unit as a Yacht is simple. When entering the water the driver continues moving forward until the wheels float free of the ramp. The road transmission is placed into the neutral position and the marine transmission is placed into drive. Once in the water steering is done with a touch of a joy stick in the cockpit. A rudder angle indicator is located beside the rudder controls so you always know the steering is set. The front wheels can be used in conjunction with the rudders to improve steering in the water if needed for tight maneuvering. An additional instrument is provided to indicate the angle of the front wheels for landing and turning.

The rear porch doubles as a swim deck. An optional fold down deck is available that will expand the deck 6’ farther to the rear and by the full width of the vehicle. A shower unit is provided with hot and cold running water for the convenience of the swimmers and fisherman as well.

It was designed specifically for fresh water environments such as lakes and rivers. It was not intended for ocean use. The Terra Wind has a 3 ½ ft. draft. The tires do not retract, they remain in their same location in the water as they were on land.

Although it may look top heavy, it is not. The design of our Terra Wind took into account every single component. Every marble tile was accounted for in the weight and balance calculations for the stability in the water. We are installing rapid deploying outrigger sponsens to add stability so the slide outs can be used while on the lake. Speed on the water about 7 knots.

Marine features include Navigation anchor and docking lights, power anchor windlass with hidden line storage capacity. Recessed docking cleats on port and starboard sides. Compass, GPs navigational systems, and other electronics are available including weather radar and sonar systems.

Safety systems include automatic Fireboy fire extinguishers in both the rear engine room and the generator room. 3 zone bilge pump system and bilge alarms/indicators.

A trailer hitch in the back can pull a car or a trailer, in fact we are building a trailer for this unit now and it floats as well! We have designed the trailer to float along with the rest of the vessel. It will be able to carry 1 car and either 2 jet ski’s or a golf cart. Top deck can be used for sun bathing, diving, or just relaxing.

A sliding glass door provides easy access to the rear carpeted deck. A stainless steel full height vertical rail and a lighted hand rail provide safe access while at the dock. Fold down steps mounted on the side below the water level make boarding from the water easy and safe.

Exiting the water is as easy as entering it. The Terra Wind is guided directly to the ramp just as any other boat. Power is applied once the front wheels touch down. This pushes the amphibious coach smartly up the ramp until the rear wheels are firmly aground. Once the unit comes to a stop the brakes are applied, the marine transmission is placed in neutral, and the road transmission is placed in drive. Release the brakes and drive away!
