rubber seal maintenance
What products do you use to keep the black rubber seals on slides in good condition?

For the 'flap' seals, I just get stuff from CW or my dealer for seal lubricant. It is spray on. And remember there are now 2 seals - inside and outside - now.

I use Tetford seal conditioner on both the wiper seals and the bulb seals on the outside edge of the slide. I get it from Amazon because it's usually cheaper there, but RV dealers usually have it or a similar product.

How are you applying it. If spray on how does it effect other surfaces?

I usually spray on, wait a few seconds, then wipe off excess with a microfiber cloth.

Even with regular application of any of these products, eventually the seals will turn to mush from exposure to sunlight. Then, they will need replacement. Nothing that you can apply will stop the sun.

I use 303 Seal conditioner or as DQDick has stated Thetford Seal Conditioner. Like Bob just stated above this post--there is nothing that will absolutely prevent them from "going to mush" eventually but the 303 Seal Conditioner will slow things down drastically. The Fantastic Fan Company, who has since been bought out, would hand out packets of the 303 at their booths at Rallies they would attend to prevent the ceiling fan cover from sticking to the gasket that it closed on. That's how I first got introduced to 303 and it really does work. You can order it on Amazon and I think the company is from somewhere in California but don't hold me to that statement.

My only complaint with 303 is that they say to use it every three to five weeks...have to buy that stuff by the gallon, and it is not cheap.
