Tanks falling out
We are getting ready to order a new 2019 3121. I have read allot of post about different things and the only one that scares me is the tanks falling out.
I would love to hear from anyone that has or has not experienced this issue. Is this becoming an issue with newer models or is it an old issue and how prevalent is it?

We have had our coach for 8 months, without any type of issues related to the tanks. From all my researching/reading of different forums, it has happened, but its NOT a common occurrence.
I don't think they are designed to travel at highway speeds fully loaded, as thats ALOT of weight(8.5lbs./gallon) on minimal bracing.

In the world of things to worry about, having the fresh water tank fall out is so low on the scale to be non-existent. I have been around here for a long time and I only recall two instances of this problem. One is back in 2005 (which someone posted to the other day) and the other is from a week ago. That one is from a member who joined, posted, and has never returned. Numerous people have tried to contact him with no success. A cynic might think it was a troll?

I agree the issue is almost non existent (mostly because people have full hook ups were they camp) , but I have prevented that issue in all 3 of my (keystone campers) by dropping the coroplast covering to take a look. All 3 in IMHO have been not been supported properly. I beefed up the support on all 3 units.
I don't buy the theory that they are not to be towed down the road with a full tank of water. IMHO they are FULLY self contained and should be able to be towed down the road with ALL WASTE AND WATER TANKS FULL.

Traded our 2010 last year after 7 years of full timing and about 65,000 miles with no problem from any of the tanks. Our 2017 has one and a half year of full timing and 7,000 miles and no tank issues with it either.

I have read every post since 2006 and last week was the first that mentioned a tank falling off.

In our 30 yrs of rving I know of one tank failure.My friends 5th wheel had some repairs done in the underbelly& they left a couple supports off which caused the tank to drop when he filled it. Luckily it wasn't moving & we were able to easily put every thing back together & there was no real damage.

We have had several holding tank failures between two Montana's since 2006.Two were self inflected and one was a defective tank. The rest failed at the inputs or split a seam.We have never had One fall out.Every one of them failed when the RV was parked on a lot. We never traveled with any tank full or close to full.

Tank failure in an RV just doesn't happen often enough to make it a reason for worry.
The only tank failure I have encountered was on a 1 Kountry Aire. This tank cracked while almost full on a 20 mile stretch of road being rebuily for the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics. A half dozen TTs and 5ers later, nary a problem. The current High country has supports underneath to prevent any major fall out. Oh and we don't travel often with them holding much water though - but that's based on how we use our RV though these tanks are built to hold their capacity while moving

You would hope there would be warning stickers by the manufacturer if they weren't designed to carry water while in transit. We are on our 7th toy hauler, we almost always have a full tank of water, never gave it a second thought.

Our previous camper was a 2010 300mp raptor toy hauler. I could see the tank pressing down on the coroplast. I removed the covering to expose the very rusty/bent down front to back supports with dripping wet insulation between them and the tank. I will not go into detail but I took care of that issue. This is why I will check any and all future tank supports. IMHO the supports on my current camper in my sig are NOT adequate to support the weight of a full tank of water. I believe one of the supports that run side to side is welded, the other was simply screwed in place with ONE self tapping screw per side. If both were welded you would never get the tank out. That screwed support is now through bolted with 3 bolts per side.

We have a 2018 3121RL and usually travel with fresh tank 1/2 and all others like 1/3 each with no issues, but after reading this we hope not to have any issues. Has anyone spoken to Keystone about this, curious what they would say

2 months ago I saw a trailer dragging its tank going down the road. My buddy lost three although not falling out entirely. If you plan on traveling with full tanks, reinforce them from underneath. Otherwise no worries. Unless... the tanks are constructed with the two piece, glued together design. Keystone uses these on some units and does not mount them according to the manufacturers recommendations. In which case never fill over 3/4 full.

Sounds like one more thing to check in the spring. I think our FW tank is being held up by the rear stabilizer cross member but ...

We have the big Brother to the 3121. IMHO I would not pull with the tanks full.
66x8.3286=549.6876lbs for extra weight reasons only. And the tanks from what I have been told, do not have baffle's in them. And it was suggested not to pull when full. This is from my notes at the walk through and pick up of our 3721......

There are a few reasons I could conger up to tow with waste water in the tanks but most of the time you/we have sewer at the site (even if it there I don't hook up) or you dump before you leave the campground (just to easy for me to dump when leaving).
Fresh water on the other hand is different story for us. My truck does not care if there is an extra 5-600 lbs behind it. I always tow with a full tank simply because I know where the water came from ( my own very good well water). I have seen some really NASTY water at some places. We can camp for at least a week without having to refill.
IMHO, its better to tow with a full tank or an empty tank instead of one that is, say 1/2 full. A 1/2 full tank will slosh around WAY more that a full tank will.
