I've been looking at New Horizons for the heluvit just to see what they offer. These are custom built units and have about every option available. While I've never been inside of one, these appear to fit many of the needs anyone could want. I have spoken to one owner who was 'in love' with his unit and the manufacturer. Unfortunately, I would need a new F450/550, $85K+ truck to pull that new $200K+ 5er and my piggy bank just isn't that big

Almost all public corporations today manage for Wall Street and not Main Street. Senior management is partially compensated for their work by stock option grants and stock grants. It is in thier personal best interest to maximize the corporate profit.
What they should be doing is managing for 2 things. Customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction. If these 2 goals are met, with being mindful of expenses, they will make a profit, just not as big.

The trend is consolidation of rv mfgrs into large corporations like Thor and Berkshire Hathaway. Building a quality unit to compete with today's shoddy mfgrs would be an uphill battle.

I think it would take at least 100 million dollars to start. Then you would probably lose money for the short time

You all are right, $3-5M is way too low. I was thinking of facility lease and equipment. Oh well, we can dream.

New Horizons ~~ I have been in ONE. He did not have the 'top of the line' and I heard the number '180 range' mentioned. They had a newer Ford dually. They were full timers. He said they will go until they can't then park it somewhere in GA. He said they plan on staying in it until carried off to the nursing home or funeral home.

Not sure about anyone else but I am hoping a company will come along that will fall in between custom built and the mass produced trailers. Just a slight step up on the details and top end running gear (IE: disc brakes, IS, Heavy frame, good tires) out of the box. The more I read on here, the more I think there are enough informed RV owners out there to support a company building units that get the critical components right...There are some really knowledgeable people on this Forum who I think would be willing to spend say an extra 5K for a trailer that they knew for a fact was better built where it matters. At the very least a company that would pay attention to the details.

I believe they are located about 50 miles east of K.C. MO
