Tire Question

The moderators, rightly so, locked a post that was getting a little personal. For my part, I do not want to stifle discussion and knowledge sharing. We are trying to get people from the Facebook Montana group to get their technical questions answered on the MOC Forum. There is a lot of good information here, and we want people to feel free to ask those questions. I may have misunderstood the confusion, as it looks like the same question was answered by the Facebook community. However, I (and others) perhaps misunderstood the question. I reached out to the OP to hopefully clarify this a little more.

The root cause, perhaps, is that dealers don't do an adequate job educating the RV buying public or assume they already know. Many are told that a 3/4 ton pickup will do just fine with that 16,000 pound rig. So, it is up to us to help fill that gap, in a respectful manner. I have also been made aware that we sometimes don't treat women as being as knowledgeable as we men. In many cases, that couldn't be further from the truth. I know I would rather have some of our MOC women driving the rigs as opposed to their significant other. My wife has driven our rig through Milwaukee traffic by herself.

So, in closing, I will try to seek a better understanding in the future. We do want people to come here with technical questions. Tires, in particular, can be a sensitive subject. As can weight issues. Thanks for listening.

The content of this reply has been removed as it was totally disrespectful. We do NOT tolerate such behaviour on the MOC

Jim, regardless, the Forum has people of all different walks of life. If we don't help educate them, then we will face the consequences. We were green in 2004 when we got our first Montana. We had a 3/4 ton Silverado and towed all over. We learned from the people on the forum, going to rallies and listening. It is clear that different generations process information differently. Hopefully she will get useful information and fill in the blanks as they travel.

There are many young families that live in RVs full time. I am not sure it is any of our business how people chose to live.

I find much of this discussion offensive. Degrading to youth and to women.

I'm glad the moderators locked that post. No disrespect to anyone here, but it was starting to resemble another forum. I've always held the MOC and the contributors here to a higher standard.

Agree completely. Was beginning to sound like another site I used to participate in, and left. The MOC has always had a much higher standard

It's why you don't see me posting on the Good Sam forum.
