Good Luck and Bad luck

In June we bgan our extened trip from the East coast to West coast. The 3rd day out we had our landing gear fail I could not raise or lower the landing gear and of course could not hitch up.This is the bad news the good news all this happened at the Elkhart Campground in Elkhart Indiana. If you have to have a rig equpiment failure
let it be in Elkhart. By chance found a great RV service place, RV One Inc, they had me on the road next afternoon. Talked to amother couple in California that had to wait over a week for the same parts.

Also at Elkhart was guy from Kansas who had an brand new Excel which lost the hydralic brakes on the trailer on his first trip. Managed to get off I 80 and in the campground in one piece but said he had a heck of a time getting that heavy Excel, which must weigh 17 or 18 K, stopped with just the truck brakes. turns out that only one of calbier bolts was still in the caliber and it was loose. The caliber had spun around and seared the brake line. after seeing that kind of failure I felt very lucky.

Glad it worked for you and thanks for the referral on the repair service, I'll add it to my list. The Elkhart Campground is a nice one so all things considered you were pretty lucky.

Another reason I always carry two 20T bottle jacks. Good to hear a responsive fix for you.

I only had one 6 ton bottle jack., but in addition to a good RV repair place they also have plenty of stores to buy jacks and stuff. I now have a second 12 Ton bottle jack
