New truck gauges

Has anyone added a pyrometer to a 2015 F250 6.7? If so where is it mounted, brand and cost. Will it affect the warranty?

Drew technology puts out a product called Dash Daq. Your truck puts out 100s of signals from the common stuff like you won't to stuff I don't have a clue about. You can monitor any of them from one at a time to a dozen. It will also read fault codes and erase them and do much more. I think it is the finest set of gages you can buy. Sparten Diesel or Rudy's performance diesel should be able to help you. I don't know their phone no Google them. NO it will not affect our warrenty.

Frank, I had all kinds of add-on products on my 7.3. I elected not to modify my F450 with any product. The vast info available via its own computer is more than I need. I read many diesel forums and "not modifying" is a new trend. I have 120k no deduct warranty and I will trade before that happens. The 6.7 is a great engine and the Superduty is second to none. Unless you're really worried about other issue, or just like to know, I would leave it factory fresh!

I monitor EGT 1, 3, & 4; Batt volt, DEP, and Regen. Have had it two years and works great. NOTE: This is NOT a tuner chip system...only a gauge system.
I was told by Ford that I don't need to monitor other than the gauges provided with the truck because the computers monitoring the engine will automatically limit the fuel to the engine if it is being overworked, and if it detects a problem will shut down the engine. I told them that I wanted to see a problem coming before it just shut down leaving me stranded on the roadside and that was why I was using the Edge Insight.

The bad news about the Edge Insight is it doesn't read exhaust gas temps at the exhaust manifold, so the readings will be low. The good news however is you can add a sensor to read the temp at the manifold - along with any other temps you're interested in such as axle or engine oil temp. It's a pretty nice set up and easy to install.

I for one will not drill into my exhaust manifold to install a sensor pre-turbo because I don't like the potential of getting contaminates inside the turbo and blowing up. So the next best thing for me is to use the Edge Insight to monitor what the engineers who designed the engine have the ECU monitor. From what I have read the ECU will shut down the engine before it will do harm.

I don't need any more gauges lol lol the ones I have on the truck drive me nuts as it is. I watch them like a hawk and if they don't move I imagine them moving lol lol I also hear noises that no one else hears too lol lol.......

I had almost everything a person could buy from Banks installed on my Ford PSD, which caused too much distraction while driving, and worry about this Temp and that Boost, I have a new TV now and I chose to leave it alone, I can watch the coolant temp and if it get hot I drop down a gear and put less load on the trans and motor. the 6.7 is a great motor I personally would leave it alone and save the money for something else.

I have been towing with Ford diesels since 2000, always with stock gauges, and never a problem. But extra gauges are fun. When I was sixteen, my car would not operate without a Sun Tach on the steering column, and amp and mechanical oil and temperature gauges in a nice chrome frame mounted on the dash. What would be nice to have, my buddy in Florida has a device for his diesel which allows him to turn off the key, and the engine continues to run until a sensor indicates the turbo temperature has cooled down to the point where it then shuts off automatically.

It's easy and safe to do. As long as you do it with the truck running, the exhaust blows out all the chips. Lots of guys on the GM diesel board have done it with no problems. You do need to wear eye protection though because it does blow it back in your face.
