Galley tank

We have a 2009 Montana 3455SA. That is one of the Hickory Editions with the side aisle. We love the floor plan and almost everything about it. We do find the location of the galley tank pull in a very difficult to reach, awkward location. It is between the wheels on the street side and difficult to reach with the slides out and darn near impossible with the slides in. We also are curious about the capacity of the galley tank as we can find no specs on it in any Montana literature. Has anyone found a solution for the pull for the galley tank? Does anyone know what the capacity of the galley tank is? Thanks for any help you can give us!

We also have the galley tank separated. Our is approx 38 gal and we just leave the valve open. Hope that helps.

Ours is an older model (2002 3295RK) and we leave the galley tank open all of the time. With a valve at the end of the line where the hose hooks up we find it better because it also gives us extra grey water storage in the line. It simply works better that way for us.

I think the 09 tanks are at least 46 gal maybe some were up to 55 gal according to the web site at various time in the past year. Currently it list combined grey water at 93 gal but when mine was built last May they claim combined 110 gal. I think all models have that bad location for the handle.

That's odd! Seems like a very silly place to locate that.

The galley tank pull handle is in front of the wheels at the leading edge of the kitchen slide on my 3605RL. It is right next to the dump tube, and very reachable when the slide is out.

Maybe you could re-route the pull handle or get a different remote pull cable. I know Valterra makes one that should work.

Ah yes, the proverbial galley tank pull! I think if you go back into the archives and check this has been a thorn in the side of almost everyone! I also think if you check with "noneck" he installed an added valve and pull handle that he can open and close the second valve (or possibly he removed the original and put in another one) that he can pull from the rear of the Monte or someplace else besides in between the wheels! Maybe he will come along and give us some advice on this and "possibly" even some pictures of his mod job!

Michal, I was curious to see that your handle is between the wheels as mine is behind the wheels and not hard to get to. On my 3280 it was between the wheels and under the slide, but the new 3455SA has it at the front edge of the rear slide and easy to reach, at least easier than the 3280.
This could be a model year change with the 2010 model year.
On the 3280 I used one of the awning handles and pulled or pushed the handle open and closed, a little easier than crawling on my hands and knees to move it.

Okay..we just bought an 06 3400rl, I see on the control panel it has a galley monitor, the previous owners didn't cover this..so, what is it exactly and where would I find the specs on it. I don't remeber seeing anything on the keystone montana web site. Just an add to this thread!

Potential Modification to relocate your between tires galley valve...
1. Make sure your tank is empty...very important!
2. Pull two of the rear belly pans down.
3. Remove the current valve...

4. Install the Valterra "cable actuated" valve...

5. Route the cable towards rear end of main slide.
6. Drill new hole for new location of handle...

**I had intended to put it forward of tires but belly pans in that area would have to be cut due to all the stuff going through them...so...I opt'd to just settle for a leisure walk to the back for galley draining...
7. Life is now good...well least I'm not crawling to open/close my galley drain. :>

Our '08 3400 RL has the same handle between the tires on the street side and although I'm 65 and FAT, I can still reach it. I figure the recess in the frame protects it from flying objects.

Yes! what werte they thinking when they mounted the pull T for the gally????? I see that there is a 1 1/2" inch pipereal close to the main dump connector and a splice into that 1 1/2" line with another valve will be the easiest for me, I dont even want to gounder and remove the liner, but I do like the install noneck did I could install the cable in the basement next to the others but that would still involve dropping the bottom.
