Tropical Storm -- ALERT
I was just watching the morning national news and with all of the crappy weather we are having, they mentioned a tropical storm coming in off of the Alantic. They mentioned that it was headed towards the Gulf of Mexico. Don't know the true path yet or whether it will materialize into anything...PLEASE BE AWARE AND KEEP A HEADS UP....DEADEYE...JB

The news said it was going to dissipate while passing Cuba. But hey, it is the Gulf. Stay alert.

Ozz, I lived on the Gulf from age 2 until an adult and then lived in Houston for 30 years. Been through every storm that came on shore since 1942 and I will be the most surprised person in the world if it amounts to anything this late in the year. First the steering currents would not bring it to South Padre and second the ambient temperatures would not support development. Just relax and enjoy the beach.

Thanks Stiles, but I am a little concerned, as we are breaking records for warm temperatures; still in the 80's here. The water is really warm.
As for the steering currents; The winds may come, and the winds may blow, but darned if anyone can figure out which way they will go...... an Ozzism....

Here is the National Hurricane Center site where you can keep track of it.

The weatherman on the local SW Florida station was just saying that the storm should dissapate as it passes the Dominican Republic. It is still out in the Atlantic and the storm tracker shows it going almost due west which would not send it up into Texas.
