I have one from the original company and would not have anything else. I have nothing but praise for the Brake smart and would recommend right now from the new company. It's proportional and what I mean as you release the brakes on the TV the brakes on the trailer also release, unlike the other controllers do,they keep applying the brakes. This is annoying in traffic. Also once I had to really apply the brakes because in OK we had one of the finest come shooting out from behind a bridge to get a speeder with lights in the grill and not on top. Should have stopped and told him/her how stupid they were. They pulled out in front of a bunch of us and my feelings are that if not for the brake smart, we would have had a patrol car on the front of the 350.

I have the Jordan 2020 brake controller which is also directly linked to the brake. Brakesmart works off the brake line from the master cylinder reading its pressure and Jordan has a cable from the controller to the brake peddle. I like the positive connection and would go with either on again.
Good luck.
