I have a 2000 F-250 and tow a 2955RL. I recently purchased the airbags and inflate them to 25# when towing, although I'm still experimenting and may settle on 30#. I have two air bibs, one for each bag, and I had the installer mount them both under the driver's side wheelwell in the rear. That way, I can inflate/deflate/check them from the same location. I recommend them, as they seem to give better ride and handling on my rig.

My truck sits 3 inches high when empty, when I hook up Montana it drops 3 inches, so it sits perfectly level. Don't see anything wrong with the 3 inch drop.
