Almost Ready

Just 9 more weeks. Going to meet with Social Security on 17th. Going to retire after 40 years commercial drivig. We've been living fulltime since last April. Sold home in Feb. of this year. Moveing to Pigeon Forge area. Dollywood has our applications for wk starting in spring.
Week of Thanksgiving will be my last week. My wife retired at age 48 from Ameritec early buy out after 30 years in '94. We both will work camp part time and enjoy Tennesee living.

Getting antsy.
I'm also in the ministry so maybe some doors will open there also.

Owen and Pat,

You are going to one of the loveliest areas of the USA. We almost moved down there ourselves. Your plans sound wonderful and we wish you the best! ENJOY!!

I can hear the excitement in your email. Congratulations on your achievement and your survival. It gets hot in TN, the higher the elevation, the cooler the summers. Get high.

Congrats Owenwetzel! I too retired earlier this year, but now have to wait for Mel to retire before we can travel extensively, like we plan. We are going to sell the stick home this spring and will be fulltimeing in the Monty. Mel can't actually retire for another 8-10 yrs, so we've got a little while. We envy you all who can. Good luck.

Tennessee is a beautiful place to live and I'm sure the Lord will open doors for you there. We love the Pigeon Forge area. The family entertainment and the natural beauty of the area makes it a great place to visit, too.

Congratulations! We spent two months earlier this year in Gatlinburg, just next door to Pigeon Forge. We truly enjoyed the national park there.

Update !!! I meet Monday with SS to set up retirement. As soon as that is done we will go directly to Pigeon Forge. Will spend the week lining up cg for 1st of Dec. and establish an address and hopefully get plates for 5er & tv.
Thanksgiving week will be my last week of full time work. Pat has at least 41/2 years to go to retire. We also have aan interview with Dollywood for Spring/Summer as wk'ers.

Well one step down. Yesterday we met with Dollywood personel and it's official we will be workcampers there starting in April. 1 step down. Today we check out cgs and reserve our spot for Dec. when we move to Pigeon Forge. We have our grandson with us this week and we are taking him to Dollywood today. We were given passes yesterday. Will check out Waldens Creek cg today.

Steps 2&3. decided on Creekside cg. Best deal on monthly rates and amenities. Waldons Creek is much smaller and not set up for long term. Reserved campsite for Dec.. Then later using cg address we got plates for tv & 5er. Saved a bunch. In Indiana plates for tv $141.00 & 5er $49.50. In Tenn. tital transfer and plates for both were $62.00.
So all we needed here is accomplished now all we need to do is the move in Dec..
