Weather Pro type awnings

Has anyone had any experience with the AE Weather Pro type automatic awnings. We are considering an upgrade but would like to hear any comments. Thanks

We just ordered a new Mobile Suites and this awning was offered. We elected to go with the manual because last year the wind took ours away, I didn't have it tied down. A real strong gust of wind that didn't last more than a few seconds did the damage. The wind came without any warning. I don't think an awning can roll up automatically fast enough to prevent this from happening again. We used the extra $1000.00 for something else more useful.

We don't have one but there are a few in the group that we go camping with. I guess it's a personal preference. Some complain the wind sensor doesn't work all that great and the same with the remote control. Sorry not much help.

We have one and have experienced no problems with it. We seldom use the remote and it sure is nice to come back to your camper and find that the awning retracted while you were away and is still in one piece. It does take a sustained wind to make it automatically retract. I'm not sure how strong a wind will do it. We are in Florida now and have had some breezy days and nights since December without it retracting. It completely retracts in 15 seconds.
