One for the Books

I just had the most unusual incident happen. We were prepping for a camping trip over the weekend. Brought home our 365 Big Sky and parked it on the drive. Got up the next morning and went to work. Terrie drove some errands. No problem. Terrie put out slides and started loading the trailer and I got home. We went to get the truck and move some cars. Not one car remote would work. Called the dealer and he told me how to reset the remote on the truck but it wouldn't work. Left for camping with no remotes working. Got to the campground and the TV was in the up position. Remote for the TV slide was missing. My brother-in-law next door went to use his remote for his truck. Wouldn't function. Drove to breakfast in the morning. All remotes worked at the restaurant. Came back and tore the Big Sky apart looking for the remote. No where to be found. Put slides in, thinking they might have captured the missing remote. TV went down. Onto something here. Found the remote tucked neatly in the back corner of the slide, all in one piece and still working. All remotes working for trucks. This remote interfered with a Chevy, Ford and Nissan vehicle, all at the same time. Slight crease perfectly between the up and down button. Go figure.

Dennis - at first I thought it was my magnetic personality. I still can't believe that remote kept all those car remotes from working.

It is called Radio Frequency interference. I would not have expected it but you have proved it.
Glad things are working well now.

Maybe you went camping in “The Twilight Zone.”
Or
Maybe you were too close to the “Bermuda Triangle.”

Wow, that reminds me of stories of airplanes overhead making garage door openers work.

That's what I was thinking. That's happened in our area when the president is visiting in the area and his plane is out at March Field.

Ron,
For some weekend kicks, go sit in a Wally-world parking lot and watch people tryiing to open their doors. I'll bet you find a good percentage of them don't realize that they can put the key in the door and turn it to unlock.

Waynem -
Actually the Chevy didn't even like the key. Opening it with the key made the horn alarm. All remotes are now acting normal. What a relief.
