While attending the Va.-Mid-Atlantic rally, the family decided to take a day trip to enjoy the scenery on Skyline Drive atop the Blue Ridge Mountains. We paid our entrance fee and were provided a map that showed all of the overlooks, picnic areas, visitor centers, etc., so since I was driving, DW took the reigns as Chief Navigator and called out the upcoming features and elevations as we neared them. I was approaching one of the brown identification signs alongside the route and informed her that she had missed an overlook called Horsehead Ridge(or Mountain?) Overlook. Her response was that the feature was not listed on the map. I then pulled the classic blunder and introduced sarcasm into the conversation by asking her if she was looking at the right end??? Her response was that we were on the southern end of the road and that she was looking at the southern end of the map and there was no Horsehead Ridge Overlook listed on the map. I then informed her in a very polite matter that I was not referring to the map!! As you can surmise from the thread title, that remark went over really well. It is a wonder that I could concentrate on driving considering the groaning and evil staring that I was now being subjected to from the passenger seat. Well, I thought it was funny anyway!!
