Is waxing best to protect decals

Just moved my 2014 fiver to our pad in sunny Quincy, Wa. How can I protect the color in my decals?

Wax is the best thing. UV protection is what you are looking for. Long lasting wax not the car show stuff.

I don’t think it’s much you can do to protect them. Some go bad and some don’t. It depends on the manufacturer. The one thing that you can do is store your camper inside. They alone with your camper will last decades.

Based on many years of industrial experience, be careful using some types of petroleum based products on decals. Make sure the manufacturer indicates it is safe to use on decals, vinyl, or other non painted or gel coat surfaces. Quick example is look what happens when you get some petroleum based waxes on your car or truck's rubber and/or vinyl trim. It will turn white, dry out and/or crack. The real determining factor is how porous the material the decal is made with. I would recommend using a water based UV protectant on the decals, vinyl, and rubber products.

Just my humble opinion.

IF wax is your choice, look at the thread Nu Finish, has several replies on it right now.

Nu-Finish is a great product, it is a polish, not a wax.
