Is there a post with "recommended" items to buy

This website, and members, is a great resource . Thank you

I am lousy at finding posts so this may already exist, but if not I would like to suggest a post that can be admin controlled to make a list of items not included from Keystone, but have been found to save repairs, headaches, etc.

Like the silencer hoses for the water pump, replacement water pump, I believe slide bars that keep the slide-out from damaging the flooring, I noticed a post on rivets to replace the stripped screws on awnings, etc. I will be purchasing them after determining how many I'll need when I take possession of my 3120.

I know there are a lot of folks that search, or make a post, on items like the floor being scratched, it would be a great resource to be advised of potential damage-control items to be owner installed.

Thanks again for this website, and great members.

Allen

Reinforce the closet clothes rod.
I used 1/2" steel pipe inside the OEM closet rod and metal end holders.
Reinforce the pantry shelves by adding 1x2 under them.
Take down the basement wall next to the convenience center. Hand tighten all fittings. Same for under all sinks and showers.
Check your brake hub wiring. Add anti-chaff wire wrapping as necessary.

Change out slide hydraulic breaker from 40A to 80 A, either resettable or automatic reset
Its on the pass through wall inside the battery bank just above battery box.

Quick hose end disconnects for the wet bay section hose hookups. They allow a sanitary seal for the hose when not in use.

Anyone have a great motion light for the steps in our Montana's? It seems many dislike the factory ones that go off and on in the still of the night.

It all starts with having the right tools along. My neighbor with SOB had a Lippert Level Up issue. I asked for a #2 square drive screwdriver. He went inside his garage and got a Phillips. No tools in his basement. So, besides a #2 square drive, regular screwdrivers, Phillips screwdrivers, sockets, wrenches, persuaders (hammers), cordless drill with drivers, wire stripper, wire crimper, pry bar, multimeter, wire terminals, heat gun, soldering iron, solder, air compressor (Viars or pancake style cordless), 4 way lug wrench, torque wrench (and appropriate 1/2” sockets for water heater, lugs, etc), pliers (standard, diagonal, needle nose, lineman’s), crescent wrenches, vise grips, drill bits, tape (electrical, duct), coax tools and ends. Various things like dicor sealant, eternabond, caulk, silicone, etc. Don’t forget another trailer to store your tools in.

In the files section you will find a lot of good info
https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...hp?do=cat&id=3

There is a good "Maintenance Checklist" in there.

Allen-- You will slowly learn what tools and other items you will need and go out and purchase them. If you bought everything that you thought you might need or that the folks on here suggest your unit will be so full you won't have room for you or your DW. You will also be totally broke if you buy everything at once. Take your time and you will slowly accumulate what you need. Good luck and safe travels!

This thread, from the start, went in a totally different (and better) direction than I expected. Thanks!

Another item a lot of folks seem to find are the plastic fender skirts coming loose. I believe a solution has been replacing screws with bolts and locking nuts.

Yes, I am guilty of ordering parts before delivery, lol. I am getting the slide bottom plastic protective UHWM tomorrow and received a box of 50 of the special rivets for the awnings, as preventative vs waiting for the top to come loose .
