Did they improve the drawers for 2005?
For those of you who have 2005 units, do you have any problems with the drawers sliding out when your traveling? Other manufacturers have the drawers you have to lift up to pull out. I noticed on the Monties they just slide out.
Thanks,

The drawers are exactly the same on the 2005.

The drawers don't just pull out. There is a cabinet catch at the top of each drawer. The way our unit is when all the slides are in wouldn't leave much room for drawers coming open.

Cabinet catch. So far no problem. I too was looking for the "lift up", but this seems to be working just as well.

We had 2 drawers that wanted to open while traveling. One i adjusted the catch and the other I added another catch since it had a lot of weight in it.

If the latches are not adjusted exactly dead center then the spring loading on each side is not fully effective and the drawers/doors will tend to come open easily. We've found they have to be exactly dead center, male to female.

Have not had any trouble with the drawers on my coach. I have been down some bumpy roads and everything seems to stay in place.

We have a 2005 2980-triple slide. Have noticed that the drawers have opened sometimes. I was winterizing our unit yesterday and was wondering why the bedroom drawers were not extended all the way to the wall between the sink and the drawers. Also, there is about 4" on each side of the drawers that they could have used to make the drawers at least another 4" wider.
Why is the power vent in the bedroom and not in the kitchen area? I have to stand on a stool to open the vent in the kitchen. That is a real pain. It only makes since to me to put the power vent in the highest part of the trailer. I will have to remember this if we order another one. Have only been visiting MOC for about 3 months. I really enjoy the articles and love looking at the pictures.
Am envious of your retired travelers. Can't wait until we can travel like all of you. Have fun and keep us posted of your adventures.

Granny B, your comments are valid and I'm sure you'd like Keystone to be aware of your suggestions. There's another area in MOC that is titled something like 'what I'd say to Keystone if...'. We know Keystone monitors MOC and that particular area is of importance to them. Would you consider posting these suggestions in that area?
Quite a few of the improvements made in the Montanas over the past couple of years came from postings in that area. Thanks for your input. This is one of the many things that makes this a great forum.

Granny B,
I'm not familiar with your model, but is a power vent in the kitchen an option? If so the wiring may be there and you could install one. Someone else here may have an idea on that.

Someone at the rally told me they installed one in that rear vent location and the wires were there. They had to tap into the wires going by but they were right there. I hope that's the same for ours since I bought a fantastic vent and intend to install it shortly after we return to our Montana.
I hear there's both 110v and 12v wires there so make sure you get the right ones. I hear the 110v are either shielded or are encased like romex in house wiring and the 12v wires are separate. I'll probably do as suggested and run a pin through each wire and check voltage with my volt meter.

I expect the wiring is preinstalled at both the kitchen and bedroom vents. When I look at my dealers option list power fans are an option for both locations so you can order in whichever locations you prefer OR both if you wish.

I like our drawers the way they are and haven't had any problems with them (knock on wood). I hate, hate, hate the ones you have to lift up and open. We had them on our TT and they would stick, you couldn't get them open or you have people who don't know they are supposed to be lifted and they yank on them. No thanks, I'll take what we have now.
