Smell of mold?
This weekend we camped in Bodega Bay Ca. When I opened the RV, I noticed a smell in the living room. When I opened the slides in living room the smell went away. Got home today and got out the ladder. Found what looked like mold on the top of one slide. It must have enjoyed the protection of the slide topper. I admit, I don't think much about the tops of each slide, because of the toppers. I sprayed a strong mold killer on each slide and awning. I have a guy coming tomorrow to steam cleaning each slide top, and the awnings. I feel stupid letting this happen. I had boats and dealt with mold on lakes. Our mild winter with 80 days just have been the perfect lab, and I let it happen. Just FYI

Before I bring in the slides I check for leaves and such and remove them on all four sides, then after the slide is retracted I wipe the slide roof and any sides I can reach off with an old towel and then I know the slide is dry and clean and it gives me a chance to see if any bugs made there way in also. I hate doing it but its part of the maintenance to make sure the slide seals, sides and bottoms are all clean. what is outside remains outside.

I have no support for this thought, but are you sure you want to steam clean anything on the Montana?

The tape on the seams is not very tough. I'd think real hard about steam cleaning or any kind of pressure washer

if you have dollar general stores where u r buy some mean green, spray it on. leave it sit a while it will eat all the mold then hose off and dry, use it on my awning all the time also agree with others on no steam

Yeah, I know the feeling. After sitting a year plus on this site in florida, we have some green looking slide tops. So now I have to take out my pvc supports that keep the slide toppers from flapping in the wind and sagging with a lot of water. I plan on using my long adjustable painters pole with a mop head to bleach solution them. John

Steam cleaner was gentle. The hot spray melted the mold spots and other dirt! Slide toppers came out good. This guy owns a fiver and knew what he was doing. We treated the areas with a mold prevention product. I will keep a closer eye on the slides!
