Is There Going to Be An Official Rally in 2005?

In three weeks, I have to put in for any time off at work for next year. Is there going to be another official rally next year anywhere? I'd like to get my time off request in for it and see if we can make it.

Or, are you too exhausted from this one and don't even want to think about one next year. Maybe every 2 years?

Thanks!

Good questions!! We have to plan ahead as well. Sure hope that they will decide while the first rally is in progress. Bet that everyone has such a great time that we'll be seeing a rally every year like a lot of the other clubs do.

NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is not to soon to talk about this. NOW!!!!!! is the time to decide where, who, what, when.....Seriously. Sounds like, a time needs to be decided first. Then schedules can be set. Very shortly, a location needs to be decided, location can effect the schedule.

Coordinators need to be decided very soon.

One big question that needs an answer now. Who will be the Wagon Master.....

Doug and Margee, is there anyway you can schedule your vacation and maybe change later? There is no way to have the location and time done in 3 weeks. But you guys are on the right track. We should be announcing next years Rally at this years Rally.

How quickly can we get his done..................we need help from everyone.

Good idea. How does the same time of year fit with everyone's schedule. Then we could pick a site.

The rally date and time won't be able to please everyone, and I realize that.

But since you asked...... no, I am pretty much stuck with what I ask for in vacation time. The only hope of us making it to a rally is between late June and the first two weeks of September.

We own a business (hubby runs it) and he can't miss more than a week. My job is very limiting except for late June to first two weeks in September.

Since the 2004 rally is being held in the eastern area, how about having the 2005 rally towards the western states? Many of the western members are still working and this would hopefully enable more of them to participate next year.

If we can't make the 2005 rally....... we'll just set our sights on the 2006 rally.

We like the idea of September after school is back in and campgrounds aren't so crowded. Since we will be retired by then...it could be anywhere.

Yes I agree the date for 2005 should be decided no later than the MOC rally. Members need to schedule very early for next year's rally. Keep us posted. Happyrving......

I'd be asking to have the ralley BEFORE the middle of August so that people with kids can attend. Schools start toward the end of August.... taking kids out of school after they have been in for a couple days or even a week, just can't be done.

Since you asked...we retirees would prefer Sept/Oct. when it is cooler in most places, when there is less traffic on highways and in campgrounds, and there are fewer people on vacation. Sorry, but after school starts is a VERY NICE time for us.
Maybe alternating the location from west to east to north to south through the years might be good. This might make it possible for more MOC members to make it to the rally if occasionally it was closer to home.
Thank goodness there are those of you who are willing to jump in and organize for us.

I agree with those who would like to know if a 2005 rally is planned. Some like myself were not able to attend this year, but would certainly plan for next year. I think that the owner/club rally is a great idea, and can be very helpful along with this forum. As for time of year, I would prefer the Sept. timeframe, but would adjust to any dates that would permit the most participation. I believe that organizing help is available, and would include myself if we can make it happen.

Planning a year ahead is a great idea. I think that if we were able to block out a large amount of camp sites at a RV park it would be nice to have the rally during the summer months that kids could enjoy. Remember they are the next generation of RV'ers.

I think that after schools start is the best time as you might not find a campground that can put aside 100+ sites to accomodate us.

Just sitting here reading, and not that I won't have a horse show but you all should consider THE KENTUCKY HORSE PARK. You won't be disappointed and groups of 20 or more they make reservations for

You won't be disappointed!!

If we do have a Rally next year...... I think about the same time of year would be good. Sometime after Labor Day and I also think somewhere toward the west would be nice. How about the Reno/Tahoe area? It is a beautiful area and there are tons of RV parks in the area and it has the additional draw of the casinos and gambling. Just and idea. Of course the North Coast anywhere would be nice! And Steve is right...... NOW is NOT too soon!

Ok, gonna put another two cents worth out there for contemplation.

Is the purpose of the Rally to just get together and have a GREAT time! (not a bad, JUST, is it?? ??)

OR, is part of the purpose to get people to see how their Montana is built, the area, the people, the whole picture??

If, the second question is a large part of the equation, then you can only accomplish that in the Goshen area.

I know, we can all show up in the area and go on a plant tour during the week. Which is something Al and I highly encourage.

We (Al and I) also hope that a private Saturday plant tour and our presence in the area for close to a week, will foster some new understandings between MOC members and Keystone, something that would benefit all current and future Montana owners.

Just a thought.

I also agree that next year's rally should be discussed at this year's rally, given that we can gain more infor. which give us more iformation to pass on to those who couldl not make it to this year's rally. Understanding work and others commitments everyone should have some input as a member.

We're pretty flexible on the time but do have a few commitments next year, such as my folks' 60th anniversary (late May) and a high school reunion (date unknown). Otherwise we will plan to be there.

Someone suggested we consider having the next rally in the mid-west to make it less a trip for our left-coast folks. In that case I'd suggest the Branson, MO, area as a possibility.

Likewise, I have to turn in vacation request in January. Although I can make changes if nobody else in my department has requested those times. How about a rally in the mid-west between the Eastern part & western part of US. I didn't become a member until June of this year and was unable to get time off to attend this years rally. Hope to be able to attend next year.

Although I would rather you all come to California next year, that is as hard for some of you as is getting back east for us West Coast people. I think Branson would be a good idea. Not far from the center of the 48. I was born in southeastern Kansas so have LOTS of relatives in the vicinity. There is also a lot of things to do in that general area. And if anyone wants to go to Goshen, it is not that far. Please, please make it late Sept. or early Oct. The only good thing about doing it in So. Calif. is you would be able to depend on the weather that time of year.
