Good Sam List of defunct RV Manufacturers

Received an unbsolicted email from Good Sam today attempting to sell Extended Warranty service for all the RV Manufacturers that have gone out of business. The list is much more extensive than I was aware of. Thank God, Keystone/Montana isn't one of them. Here is the list they provided and I think there are a few more:

National RV
Travel Supreme
Teton Homes
Extreme RV
King of the Road
Travelaire
Western RV
Weekend Warrior
Ameri-Camp
Big Foot RV
Sunline Coach Company
Chinook/Trail Wagons
Alfa
Pilgrim International
Rag’n
Dolphin
Sun Valley Inc.

Gruesome!

It seems ironic that Good Sam would be trying to leverage other companies going out of business when this article says that Affinity Group (Good Sam, Camping World, Trailer Life, etc.) are in financial trouble.

http://fulltimerver.com/affinity-gro...-affect-rvers/

The loss of the Good Sam discounts at RV Parks would be unfortunate but not a big deal. I have a love hate relationship with Camping World. The service departments are so hit or miss. You might get someone who knows what they are doing or you may not. It is just luck of the draw with whoever is assigned to you rig even if you return to the same Camping World. However when you are in an area you don't know you can usually count on Camping World having the best selection of RV stuff.

The last paragraph says it all "What happens to fulltimers who’ve put money on AGI “insurance” plans against major RV component failure? What about the RVer who breaks down somewhere on America’s Loneliest Road, picks up the cell phone and dials for AGI sponsored Emergency Road Service?"

I know that a lot of us have Good Sam ERS!

As of March 26th, Coachman was still in business, along with Winnebago, and Thor Industries. Did I miss something this month?

Winni Lost 10.4 Million in its second fiscal quarter, with revenue plunging past 80%.

It is grimm times.

Thor( including Keystone and many others) is still in business although their last published quarterly report was showing significant losses and a bit grim. Next one due out in June. But their stock has doubled in the last couple of months. Sure would like to know why that is! Somebody knows something. Anyone know if there is any connection between AGI and Thor, financial or otherwise?
