What did your old RV have thats no longer in style

Ozz asking about the little rechargable flashlights we used to have got me thinking ... what can you remember from any past RV that whether useful or not is no longer on your current unit? I remember a door bell on my 2000 as well as a telephone on the wall. It included a phone jack on the exterior wall that you could plug into a phone jack on the power pedistal if the RV park had one.

Our 2955 2005 had a pull out trash in a cabinet. Loved it. Did have DH make one in our present unit.

Ditto on the Telephone jack. Wish they were still included. My part time lot has DSL which requires a phone jack.

Actually, one of the reasons we don't look at new rigs is we like our old rig with out of date stuff.

Still reminiscing ... I had a Sunlite TT that you had to pump the sink faucet handle to get water (no electric pump)and a bottle cap opener with a catch tray for the caps mounted near the sink.

dieselguy-- you can still get that bottle opener with the catch tray in it but you have to go through Amazon to get it. Have seen several mount theirs on the basement wall for outdoor enjoyment of beverages.

As far as our ideas for the units is the lighter(oak or hickory) interior and not the darker colors of the woodwork and cabinets. We also miss the shower in our new unit. It has a shower but it is with a tub and we don't feel there is as much room in the shower in the new unit as in the old one. The DW misses the shorter length of the old unit which was a 2980 but she sure likes the extra living room space and the fireplace of the 3582 we now have.

Used to get a wall clock. Would rather have that provided instead of eyebrow lights on the cap.

I don't want to give up:

A floor plan that works for us.

The sliding trash can.

The light oak cabinets, even if they are NOT all wood.

The light colored walls.

The carpet, YES, the carpet. And, no, I have NO interest in putting down another rug, small or large. I have too much stuff to stash now on packemupday. My monkey, my circus. I am not a minimalist. I love warm feet, let's make that "warmer" feet on the carpeted areas vs the uncovered floor areas.

The desk.

The hidey hole laundry shoot thingy at the top of the stairs.

The curio cabinet in the corner.

Our shower/bathtub in the corner. Our separate potty room.

The storage area in the front closet.

The closet mid upper level for the washer/dryer and storage.

Would love to not have to deal with the suicide step. Level ups would be nice.

I think we will just keep the Heritage RV, Tana.

Before montana, it was a diesel pusher. Loved the slide-out batteries tray so that everything was out in the open...four nice T105's sitting pretty. And all the tanks sitting on solid surfaces and not thin abs. John

Funny I found pictures of my dads from the 70s. It had a phone jack in bedroom and living room. Also came with end tables with table lamps that were not mounted in place! I remember it had a "lighted assist" handle at the front door.

Yes, we too enjoy our legacy RV, such as the Golden Oak Interiors vs the dark/greys, common NOW (how long before that style changes?).
Use the Dometic Remote Wall holder for the outside Temp sensors when we travel. Also like the built-in Desk which is now uncommon (Tablets/phones reign?) but has room for the printer and laptop.
Also the split Bath floorplan which is almost impossible to find anymore. And the Cabinets that extend all the way along the passenger side slideout and NOT so big slideout Windows that we VERY rarely have an decent view out of.

We recently gave up the hidey hole laundry basket (we use real baskets in the Front closet) and put the Satellite Dome/Dish there.

Do enjoy the slideout trash can with easy access to the HW heater and plumbing. Also the "solid" pocket and sliding doors that close off the Bath and Bedroom respectively.

I covered/plugged up my external phone jack with a Plastic Pill Bottle Cap.

Do like the new quieter Brisk Air 2 AC (Manual vs. remote operation),Apt Size Residential Fridge, Oxygenics Shower, full extension drawer glides on most drawers, and Flat Screen TV upgrades we've made.

Have learned to leave the glass doors that cover the Sound, Satellite, DVR Systems shelves OPEN a little when in operation as I think heat was shortening their lifespans...

I will never forget when i was a boy i think 6 or 7 and my father and sisters went to Oscoda in Michigan to Ausable river at Old Orchard Park in the Pontiac station wagon and my grand father had a camper. Not sure what type but i think it was 20' and it had Gas lights and the dining table was in the front of the camper that made in to a bed and of course no slides, we would sleep in drop down bunks and cook over the fire and not to forget fish all day. I miss my grand father.

When I was 7 or 8 my parents bought a 19' Holiday Rambler with the overhang bunk in the front. When was the last time you saw one of those?
