Best RV Show vs Touring the Plant
We need your recommmendation on touring the plant vs attending the show. We would like to attend a show next year. Which is the best show to attend to see all of the latest and greatest-or do you recommend we just tour the plants and what time of years is the best time to tour?? We've attended the Denver shows the past three years and were disappointed. Just nothing new there!

There is NOTHING like going thru the plant, it will give you a different perspective of all the ins and outs of a rig.
And, nothing like a show to look at what all the different manufacturers are offering.
Nothing better than looking at as many units as you can, as many places as you can, in the plant, in the shows.

If you are going to spend $100,000 (+ or-) on a rig and truck, a few days spent in Goshen, IN would be a good investment. Shows might be a good starting point, but the real deal to tour the plants.

The plant tour is a must and the best RV show is the 2008 Florida RV SuperShow in January in Tampa Florida.
This is the largest RV show on the East Coast and is the first SUPER show for introduction of the 2008 Model year. Most every RV manufacturer is in attendance including Montana and the many of the fine folks from Montana are also there. There are some terrific deals to be had. This is "the best show to attend to see all of the latest and greatest" bar none.
I can guarantee you that you will NOT be disappointed at this show.

Take the plant tour. Once you have seen one rv show you have seen them all. The plant tour has much more to offer.

I agree with Glenn, having attended this show four years in a row. Last year Tom's sister drove here from central Texas for this show. She drove here in her Roadtrek and left in a new Itasca Cambria. This was a smaller unit than the Montana but she travels alone and felt it was what she could handle. Not matter what type of unit you are looking for the Tampa show will give you a jump start on your research. Also it is a great chance to meet some of the other MOC members as we usually have a get together one day of the show at the Montana booth. Again this year Glenn???

RV Show Rally>>>> http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=24652
In my opinion, if you ain't been to the RV SuperShow in Tampa or the BIG September RV show in Hershey, Penna you ain't been to an RV show. These 2 shows EACH display acres and acres of RVs in every shape and size. From the little bitty Scamp to the multi-million dollar Prevost's. From HD 3/4 tons to the big Peterbilts. I doubt you can find a brand that is not well represented.
Same thing applies to accessories. Building after building of every RV accessory imaginable. You name it, it's there.
Most every RV manufacturer and most every RV component manufacturer and many of the RV accessory manufacturers have the factory people on hand, not just the dealer's people but THE FACTORY PEOPLE as well.
If their are deals to be made this is the time and place to do it.

Touring the plant, any plant, is something that you should do if possible. Gives you a insight as to how these things are put together. The Montana plant tour is done after working hours and although a good experience you do not get to see the "craftsmen" at their task. The sprinter plan, nearby is done during working hours and will provide a even better understanding of how these things are put together. Some of the other Brand plants also give tours during working hours. We wil be at the Tampa Rv show in Jan.

Minnesota also has a fantastic show in Minneapolis the week of Valentines Day and have several of the Key people from Montana there... It is about three weeks after the Tampa show though.

I also recommend the plant tour, during the MOC rally in the fall. That way, you get to see the product at all stages of manufacture, and also the neat modifications that ingenious Monty owners have made to make their units more livable for themselves. Shows are great for comparing Montana to other brands. Once you decide on a Monty, the factory tour is the way to go.

Glenn-- How does the Perry Rally and show compare to the Tampa Show? Thinking of heading down to Perry, GA for "The Rally" in March and they say they have a lot of units on display there! Not sure if we're going to take the Monte with us (It's winterized and taking a nap) or just drive down and go to the Rally daily without the Monte! It's sure getting cold up here in Omaha-- 5 degrees right now and windchills last night of -15 to -25 degrees! Enjoy the Southern warmth!

Show vs Plant tour: it is not really an apples and apples comparison. It more like choosing between a wide angle and telephoto lens. Both produce excellent pictures, but from a different perspective.
