Any idea what this is for other than bug entry? Thar's clear calk around it.

I was going to say it was for the circular white LED light, but your hole is not centered. Is this a new rig?

Do you have a washer in that front compartment?? If so is that the washer drain pan exit??
My only guess.

I second the washer drain line. But, the line has disappeared.
