Winterizing 3400RL-Not yet, But Soon :-(

Anyone attempted in their 3400 to winterize yet???

I may be asking a stuipd question, maybe the 3400 are too new. The reason I ask in looking where to do ours the connections do NOT appear to be in a handy spot.

Gotta find the water pump. The antifreeze draw line is located there. Also have to access the hot water heater to turn the bypass. Don't forget the drain traps and to blow out the black tank flush. The other thing that gets forgotten about is to push the check valve on the city water connection till antifreeze comes out to chase the water out of there.

I know the time will be here soon enough.

Thanks NJ,
I guess my question wasn't worded the greatest!!

I'm wondering is the 3400RL to new, by that I mean would this be the first time if someone owned one that they would be winterized??

The location of the gizmo thingy is so weird, by the furnace under the cupboards, by the sink????? Not much room to do this.

So, if someone has done one on their 3400RL, how did it go??

Thanks

I removed the panal as u walk in the door (2980rl) it's easier to access the bypass valve.

Thanks for the info, I'm printing this off so I can give it to my husband for when we close up the unit for the winter.

The check valve in my 2955RL is located in the city water connection connector on the side of the trailer. Remove the screen / gasket and look for a white plastic valve assembly immediately downstream.

I have found two ways to open the valve for backfeeding antifreeze into the line:
1. Bleed off the water pressure and have someone depress the valve before turning on the pump.
2. Shut off the water pump after pressurizing the system with antifreeze. Then depress the valve with the back of a small screwdriver handle (if your finger is not strong enough - my is not.)

In either case, don't stand in front of the fitting.
