Chasing Kohl

Well it looks like we will be chasing H John Kohl up the coast. We should leave Elk Creek on Wed and catch up with him in Klamath on Thursday or Friday. Then off we go exploring the northwest. We lost power this morning when the rain (first here since January) soaked an osprey nest 4 power poles from us and it arched very loudly and then burst into flames. The female got off the nest but the eggs and nest and top of power pole were lost. It took PG&E about 5 hrs to replace the cross brace and the top wire on 3 poles and restore power. But the rain put out the rest of the fires near here and cooled stuff down nicely. I hope we don't drag the rain north with us...

XDavyDiver,

We're here waiting for John. Hope you can join up with us too. We're in TriMountain RV park in Ridgefield ,WA. It is about 10 miles north of Vancouver at I5 exit 14. We'll be heading to the unofficial Montana Rally in Spokane June 5-12.

Yo, Sheepdip wazzup? We will have to see how our trip goes in general. We are trying to get home sometime in June via I-90 shuffle. That is to include visiting Navy buddy in Post Falls, friends in Montana, Custer Battlefield, Devil's Tower, friends workamping in Spearfish, Rushmore and Crazyhorse, Rondo and Mary, and Betsy's BFF in KC, then up to Minneapolis to visit her brother and home to Wi.. Sooooo we will have to see how we feel by the time we get to WA. We hope to catch the old dude tomorrow in Klamath. We are stopped for the night in Redding to do last minute food shopping cause I hear there is no food west of Redding, at least till you get to Oregon.

I am at Kamp Klamath. There are two Passport America parks on this road. The first one, Klamath Riverwoods RV Park, has a real hard 140 degree turn and down hill. It is right on the river with a nice view but a little higher in cost. Kamp Klamath is the other one farther down the road. Rustic and short spaces. There is a turn around circle at this park for the road. NO RVs are allowed past this point. So you can come down to KK, turn around and have an easier access into Klamath Riverwoods RV Park.
I am in Kamp Klamath until Tuesday morning if plans work out.
No AT&T cell phone coverage in this area.
Get groceries before you arrive. The closest store is 20 miles north at Crescent City.

Watch out for "Squatchs" ! They are big and hairy like most of us NW critters! No cell service is Squatch country. John, make sure Dave walks point when hiking, Squatches like his kind!

ps John, Squatches don't like the taste of Marines, so you be right!
