screen door opener

I was was surfing the forum and found a neat way to open your screen door from the inside without opening the slide to pull down on the latch, but I can not find the topic. Can some one lead me to the right post?

Thanks - David

There have been a number of people that have done this mod - to view the mods section click on home at the top of the page - then scroll down.
Ahh...it's called show and tell.

Here is one page I found from there:

You may find others too - take a look around.

Last summer, I made one almost identical to the one in Ozzie's link above. I used a bicycle spoke. I works perfectly. Prior to that, I used a small bungee across the cover so that it would "automatically" keep it closed, but allow one handed unlatching of the handle.

Several of us have had this for a couple of years or more. I got it from the originator, our own Nkwist (Norm Kwist). It's an excellent invention. My current one also uses a bicycle spoke, a la Russ. On our prior Montana I used a wire coat hanger.

Be sure to notch the screen slide to clear the wire. You can easily do this by making sure the slide is closed when you drill the upper hole.

I think I'll be doing this mod on ours too...it looks like a gooden.
Of course I'll be waiting for warmer weather. Plastic things don't like to be worked on when it's sub zero out.

That's a link to CountryGuy's site that shows a closeup of the screen door opener.
