Hershey RV show
I seen the new 2013 Big Sky yesterday at the Hershey RV show. 3402 floor plan. I guess this must be the transition year as they told me they changed the front and rear cap design, added cherry cabinets and I think it's the first year they have the rear AC installed with a ducted return air which make the interior much quieter. They also changed the paneling design. Very nice unit! I met the new owners of the show unit who happen to be MOC members but absent from the forum for awhile. Naturally I can't remember there user name but hopefully we'll see them post as I suggested they see Richffa and some of the others threads on some of the issues encountered.
Also had the pleasure of meeting two other MOC members, cdaniels and oldelmer1. The show is huge! You need at least two or three days to appreciate everything it has to offer..

John and Judi,
We plan on attending this years Hershey show this Saturday and cannot wait to see the 2013's. We have found the Hershey show to be one of the best around for both shopping for a coach or misc. items from vendors. you are on the mark that if you are shopping for a new rig that you need to spend at least 2 days minimum so you can sample everything.
I told the DW to bring the check book just in case we need to put a deposit down as you never know if you fall in love with something!

Les,
You are better off leaving the checkbook at home, we didn't 2 years ago and came home with our 3150RL.
John,
You are correct, at least 2 days to go through everything at the show. And what a VERY BIG show it is. We did like the New Horizons 5th wheel for $189,000 dollars, but that thing weighs in at 22K pounds, we'd have to but another new truck!!! And there was a really nice Winnebago motor home, for well over #300,000 dollars. Think we will stick with our very nice 3150RL.
Nice meeting you and hopefully we will see you down the road.

I couldn't go home empty handed an bought a manual wound storage reel for the power cord. It's made by MORryde who had a display just inside the building to the left as you walk in. I really needed this thing!lol

Yes, I hear you.....We have only been in our 3580RL for about 6 months now and lovin every second and the DW really does not want to redo everything again but we have learned from past experience that you never know when an opportunity exists and may never come around again! I am looking forward to seeing what improvements Keystone has made to the coaches and to borrow some new ideas!
and BTW, if you want a RED generator, buy a RED generator....anything else that says it is the same just is not. It's like buying those "heavy duty" tools from Harbor Freight....We have had our EU2000 for about 7 years now and have never had any issues with it!

Johnnyg, we were there yesterday also and that new Big Sky was nice. The new front cap with the recessed blue accent lighting gave it a nice appeal. We also liked the new changes inside.

I normally store the cable on the off door side so placed it next to the convenience center for now.

WOW....All I can say about the show again this year....just keeps getting better and better.....well almost. A little disappointed in the number of misc. vendors (other than RV dealers), but heck who is complaining when you have 1,000 plus coaches to go thru.
Here are the my top 4 RV manufacturers that I felt had the best to offer, in no particular order: Keystone, Heartland, Forest River, and Continental Coach.
The high end lines of each (except for CC which is totally custom and is high end) all had some really great looks, ideas, quality, etc.
If you were looking for the deal, it was to be had at the show, but you do need to get there one of the opening days to grab a rig you want as it seemed almost everything there was "SOLD".
My DW was thinking that was a marketing ploy because if the as she said if the economy is still that bad you would not have known it by the number of coaches sold.
DW was certainly bias towards the Montana and loved the changes they made to our model which is now the 3582RL.
Of course there were the $500,000 to $1,000,000 buses....but maybe it is me but I don't get the big deal to having these monsters at 10 to 15 times to the cost of a really good 5'er.

Yeah the buses are nice but at a million plus they are all glitz and glamour, just not real homey inside and not to practical to full time in. So if I hit the lottery it's gonna be a nice 5er and one heck of a tow vehicle...

Or you can Dry Camp right on the Grounds, did that last year with two other rigs from our GS chapter (both MHa and they both bought new MHs at the show)
