Lippert 3.0 level-up

2014 Montana HC 305 RL. Lippert 3.0 4 point level up .I have noticed on several forums in the last few weeks people are getting a message for the left front jack being out of travel for any more extension, more of this than any of the other jacks. This keeps the auto level system from working but you can still use manually. Mine has done this several times lately and I took it to the service pros to have this and some other things fixed. Got it back from service and got the same message when I tried to set it up at my storage shed. Does anyone know if " left front" is a message of a particular problem since it shows up so frequently. I have called Lippert customer service several times a few weeks ago and they usually say it is a low battery issue, but I have changed battery and still have the same problem..The service people say the left front jack is bad as they put as new motor on it and still had the problem. They want to install a new jack, but I see several people having the same problem and am wondering why "left front". I also see the fuse for the left front is a 35 amp and the others are 40, would this be low enough to cause a problem? Any magic cures would be appreciated.

Get the LCI app for your phone and go to support. Ground control3.0 and follow instructions for Homing the jacks. Had the same problem and since I did that, haven't had a problem since.

I got the same message so I followed the instructions in the Lippert owners manual manual and have had no problems since. Extend all jacks at least 6 inches then retract all jacks

I get the message a lot, just did it again in the driveway when we got back tonight. But, I’ll second what Rex says, extend 6” and retract. Mine always goes away and might not come back for several weeks. I wouldn’t know how to act if it didn’t come up with some kind of error. But, there is always a work around. Just never forget the one thing that will always fix this lovely leveling system, PATIENCE.

Does the problem exist when plugged into a land line?

I have not tried it on shore power. I have reset the zerolevel and re- homed it numerous times with no correction. I will try to talk with a Lippert tech again tomorrow

And as Jeff is leaning toward, if I get an error message, I always make sure I am on shore power. The system does not like low battery voltage.

As footz1941 stated. To retract all the jacks push and hold retract for a couple of seconds and all the jacks will rehome. Should take care of fault..
My did that after some battery work.

I have a 2018 381th
I have found that if you want the auto level to work the unit most already be level. If the system has to correct for as little as an inch side to side it will mostly go into error. It’s a pain to have to run the middle jacks down with a drill just to get the error to clear and reset the system.

In the past I had that system in 4 and 6 point. Once I found a rear above a dip and added 3 plastic 1" blocks. Never needed to level in any way, just made sure none would go out of stroke. Side to side, never a problem. You need to rehome the jacks or call LCI.

If the site is not close to level, it is important to guesstimate how far each Jack will have to extend to get the RV level. Extend the front feet with this in mind. Add blocking under the back feet if necessary to prevent full extension before auto level is achieved. I have found failure to follow this procedure to be the only thing to trigger the over travel error.

Other failure errors may be caused by not enough battery to do the job. One battery is not enough if one side or end has to be raised much more than the opposite. Add another battery or 2 and make sure to connect in parallel. This keeps the jack motors from overheating do to low battery power. My slides also operate better.

Do not manually operate any jacks when the controller says ready. This will cause the jacks to loose home for auto retracting. Always use the manual mode to manually operate the jacks.

If the jacks don't auto retract correctly, while hooked up to the tow vehicle, manually extend all jacks to 7 inches. Then do retract all. They should all stop perfectly and stay there until the next time you accidentally move them manually while in the ready mode.

Hope this helps someone.

Does anyone know if the middle jacks can be manually lowered in a 6 point electric system? Thanx

The only way I have found to manually lower the middle jacks is with a drill.

To answer buckfisher I already have 2 batteries, I am normally connected to shore power when doing auto level. However when I am lowering the front jacks to disconnect I don’t select manual mode, I simply turn on and hit the front button to lower the front jacks. I will try selecting the manual mode next time. Hopefully that is my issue.

You don't need a drill. Hit both left and right and the centers will move. For complete instructions try https://www.lci1.com/automatic-leveling
