Slide issue?

We have a 2004 328RLS Mountaineer that we have towed around 4000 miles across country. The dining/couch slide now moves in a herky jerky fashion while the other two slides are smooth. Has anyone experienced this, if so what was the fix? The slide system is a combination hydraulic cylinder and rack and pinion.
