My screws are loose

I have a 3750FL and the main door closer screws keep coming loose, now they are becoming stripped.
I thought I read a fix for that a while back.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

My 3585SA does not have one, but if it did I would remove it and throw it as far as I could!

On some units depending on design ... the strut is on for a reason as in preventing hitting the awning arm or in my case (3150RL) from hitting the baggage door. I had a similar issue with my closer mount that was screwed thru the rain gutter. It kept getting loose and making life difficult. I ended up making a spacer out of aluminum bar that I ground to fit behind the rain gutter. I drilled thru holes to match the closer arms holes and attached the closer arm with the original screws. When I tightened the screws after the mod, it clamped solid instead of trying to collapse the rain gutter.

I had the same problem with my screen door. I added tented plexi-glass as I did on my last Monte and noticed that one of the top screws and one of the middle hinge screws stripped. I drilled through the inside part of the door in both locations and added a bolt and nut in each location. It tightened up great and works better than the original short screws. My old Monte hinges had a lip that grabbed the door and held it tight with three screws, but the new one has a hinge that just lays on the door and held by two screws. Bad design in my opinion. It is a shame that you have to fix these type of things that should have been done right at the factory.

Can you describe the problem more specifically? I am guessing you are referring to the gas strut attached to the door. Which end is having the problem with loose screws? My rig has a strut too and the screws holding the bracket to the door lasted one day in the Yuma winds. Since the door was scheduled to be replaced when I returned home, I just drilled the holes through the door, inserted a spacer, and used bolts to attach the bracket (in place of the sheet metal screws). This fix worked well for two months. Subsequently the dealer replaced the door (due to another issue) and used Riv-Nuts to attach the bracket. One year later it is still tight (and we have been back to the Yuma winds).
