Great job on the mods, but I have one question, what do you store in all the underside tubes?
Happy camping,

Dick, I’m always looking for a way to make set-up and break down as short, and simple as possible. Now I don’t have to take two hours to set-up or break down unless I want too!!! As you know that here in the great northwest more than likely you will be doing it in the rain, and if at the beach a driving rain, so if need be I can run out between storm fronts. This way I don’t have to open the storage compartment in the driving rain and get it wet.
That would be:
1: Tripod
2: Rug
3: Empty: maybe fishing poles in the future?
4: Sewer hose, with all fittings and support
5: Extra Sewer hose, if needed for hook-up

How do the end caps fit on screw on or just pushed on? What diameter PVC are you using?

Great mods, I second the questions on the PVC info. Also, where do you get the single layer shoe holders? That was my favorite fix, LOL. Thanks for sharing, Sue C

Look really great, where did you get the 8' PVC ? all I have been able to find is the heavy blue kind when you get that big.

Like those storage tubes under the belly!! Can I ask you to describe just how you fastened them to the underside? For example, did you use galvanized nuts and bolts or stainless steel nuts and bolts? What are you using for the brace under the tubes that the bolts run thru? Do you use anything other than those "U" shaped braces on either end to hold up the tubes--i.e., any bolts running thru the top of each tube into the basement area?

David, I used 3/8th all thread and fasteners through super strut I picked up at home depot. The link below will show you what the strut looks like. All I did was cut the strut to lenght needed and used self tapping screws into the edge of the frame in the same place they mount the bottom panel.
Then used the all thread down through more strut. will try to take pictures when I can and post as its raining now.

William & CJ, two questions... That computer fan that you replaced the stove hood fan with... does that move about the same volume of air? And can you get that with a variable speed rheostat control???
Sorry... I meant THREE questions
Why do you use THREE water filters? I see many use two. Never seen 3 before. How do you have these set up?

Bill--I look forward to seeing your pictures when you get a chance to post them so I can better understand how you did this project. As a newbie who has little experience in such projects, every bit of info helps. Thanks in advance.

As everyone that has a 3400RL knows that the side doors under the bedroom slide can be a big pain in the %#*& when setting up or breaking down.
I added key rings to the bottom of the doors and now use bungee cords to keep the door open. http://picasaweb.google.com/oldguard...stImprovements

Dave, the computer fans seem to move the same amount of air as the junk fans. I guess you could get a fan with a variable speed control, but we are very happy with what we have, we picked them up at radio shack for around twenty dollars.
My DW does not like the water at most camp grounds and there was no way I was going to pay a dollar for a bottle of water for her to drink, or to make coffee. With the three filters we filter all water that goes into the Montana and it’s a lot cheaper to replace the filters twice a year and we have not noticed any drop in water pressure to the Montana and the showers are great.
The DW now can drink all the water she wants and it much better than the bottled water. As you can see from the pictures they are mounted to the basket and make set up go much faster.
