Black tank valve

Hello, I recently bought a 2005 Montana. I went to open the black tank valve, but the handle came out. Like it’s missing a pin or something.
My question is, how can I access the valves ?
Do I do it from underneath or can I get to the from top ??

You'll need to drop the coroplast and go at it from the bottom to get to the valve. I'm not familiar with an 05, but on later models you can take the basement wall off to access where the cable connects to the handle. Some of the handles also have a screw that goes into the middle of the handle to hold it on.

I had a 2006. The handle rod had a sort of sleeve on it. This fit over the other rod attached to the valve. They both (I think) had a cotter pin thru them, although maybe one end screwed on and the other had a pin.

Gray tank pull

Has anybody had trouble with pulling out their gray water valve. It is very hard to open and shut and doesn't shut all the way so I get a little bath every time.

Most everyone here had had their bad experiences with black/gray valves. The best solution is to replace them with Valtera valves. A Search here will uncover numerous posts on repair/replacement (including this one here).

Also add a Vatera twist on valve on the end of the sewer pipe to avoid those nasty surprises from leaky valves.
