September trip to Yosemite

We are planning a trip to Yosemite, L.A.( DW loves old movies from 30s,40s and 50s) and back through Utah. Have been reading posts from Jay Bird for Utah. Any advice for campgrounds, routes. Do I want to go through Tioga pass ( I don't think so)? Is this a good time for the trip? Thanks in advance for Your advice.

You will probably want to stay outside the park and go in on a daily basis. The park gets really crowded in the summer. As for going over Tioga Pass it really is no big deal. Going east to west is the easiest as the climb up to the top is fairly steep. Easier going up than down. I have done both with a Montana 3400 behind my Dodge 3500.

This year the waterfalls should be outstanding because of all the water. We were in the park 3 weeks ago and it was great.
