5.9 or 6.7?

I have been reading about the new cummins that debuted in '07. I bought mine in '06. I have been reading good things about the new 6.7 liter, particularly that it is superior to the 5.9. If there is anyone who has had experience with both, have you found it to be so?

Steve has the 6.7...I'm sure he'll post something on this topic.

levietta,
Check out the Turbo Diesel Register or the Dodge Cummins Diesel Forum webpages. Both have forums running for the 5.9 & the new 6.7 Cummins engines. You can find out from either one what some of the common issues are for both. I have heard the new 6.7 is very strong bone stock with no power add ons. Everyone is saying the 6 speed automatic Aisin (Spelling????) performs very well too. I think this also comes with an exhaust brake from the factory.

Good luck & happy hunting!

I think the only reason Dodge came out with the 6.7 is because Ford has a new engine (again) and GM tweaked the Duramax. The 5.9 is a very strong engine and is detuned when put in the pickup. There are lots of class A MHs that have the 5.9 with double the torque available in the pickup.
