Albuguerque Balloon Fiesta

Looking to go the Balloon Fiesta next year. Any recommendations on camping there? Which ones to go to and which ones to stay away from?

We are following these responses...
Have the Balloon Fest on our "TO DO" list.

We went last year and had a great time (note sig pic ). We dry camped at the South RV lot about 3/4mi from the launch field. It was great to be able to just walk down from the camper to the field. They also had shuttles from the lot to the field.

Here's a link to just about everything you need to know about camping at the Balloon Fiesta:

Be sure to stay for the "Special Shapes Rodeo" and the night time "Glows"

Another option if you belong to the big RV clubs is to go with a group camp such as the Escapees have.

I guess we are not into "groups". We went to the Balloon Fiesta two years ago and stayed in Santa Fe. Just drove down the best morning, did the balloon launch, watched them land and returned to Santa Fe for breakfast! Spent the rest of the time in Santa Fe--better place for us.
