A happy occasion (Updated with pics)

Rosetta and I are leaving for SC today to attend our son's retirement tomorrow from the Army after 25 years of service to our country. We are very proud of him. He has served in both peacekeeping and combat operations that many others have found themselves in during these troubling times. As we honor his service we must keep in mind that there are still many other sons, daughters, mothers and fathers still serving. It is not without sacrafice that they do this. Remember Freedom is not Free.

Our proud moment

I took the computer so he could read for himself all the well wishes and thanks. He expressed his thanks to all of you.

A second on the congratulations George and Rosetta. A heartfelt thank you goes out to you both and to your son for the service to our country. Knowing the lifestyle (raised as an Army brat), I am fully aware of the price that the entire family, particularly the mothers, have to pay!! Blessings and thanks to all of our servicemen, servicewomen and their families.

Your son is a hero, doing a job 95% of our countrymen will not do.

Please convey best wishes to him from this USAF retiree.

Congratulations on a job well done.
We all sleep better because our troops are fighting for us.
And we become complacent and sometimes fail to
appreciate these special folks. Thank you!

Congratulations. Having been there, done that, I can appreciate all that he has done for our country. My son is still active duty after 25 years. I'm thinking he is going to do one more tour. I'll be like you, attending his retirement ceremony. I hope he has a parade. I opted not to, but I like parades.

Thank him for his devoted service for me.

Congratulations to all of you. I know that you must be so proud of him. Thank goodness that he has come home safely from the many tours of duty that he had thru the years.
My husband Jim retired from the Navy many years ago and unless you go thru it, no one really knows all of the sacrifices that a family goes thru.
Please tell your son "Thank You" for keeping us safe.

Add my congratulations to his "GRADUATION". Now someone will come up and ask him when he's going to get a "real job". Instead of punching the persons lights out, tell him to "wink" at them. They know the're "wusses".

Great news! Glad you can share this special time with him. Thank him for his service for me and yes, always remember, Freedom has a price and that all us Vets paid some; but never forget that some paid all!
