Air vents moisture problem ì

Hello ,we have a Montana 2018 3700LK 5th wheel where we live in about 9mths of the year .we put the camcoe insulated vent pillows in all 3 vents.My wife noticed there was quite a amout of moisture behind them.Upon inspection the one above the stove when removed the pillow the pink insulation was soaked above the insulation and roof as far as we could reach back on all sides,the other vents were wet but not as bad. Anyone experience this issue. We removed the 3 pillows and hope things will be okay. So just beware if you have or could end up with same problem.thanks Shawn&Deb

If it's cold out, it's condensation. Warm, moist air on the inside collided with cold air on the outside. Similar to what causes mattress mold issues

Yea, it's a "Catch 22" going on in so many of our RV's when it comes to condensation. You do something to improve a situation, but it causes problems in another area.

I would think if you want to help insulate the vents in the ceiling, put a cover on them outside the camper. See if that would help and reduce the condensation.

A simple trash bag spread over the vent and held down with a few small bricks or heavy rocks is probably all you would need to do. You might try that and see if reduces the condensation INSIDE the camper.

If it were me, I'd remove the insulating pillow especially from the fan and opening above the stove. When cooking or taking a shower even open that vent some to draw out any moisture in the unit created by the cooking or the hot shower and vent it out the ceiling vent. Also crack one of the windows when doing this so it gets a draw up to the vent/fan. If your shower is in the bathroom and it has a vent do the same thing when showering. It is surprising how much moisture comes off the food when cooking or out of the shower when it is in use. A lot of folks use a small dehumidifier in their unit in the winter but opening the ceiling vent and cracking a window has solve our problem when we are out and the temps are cool or cold outside.
