Propane refrigerator problem

I have a Montana fifth wheel that I absolutely love, however, when we use it the Norcold refrigerator shuts down about once a week saying “no propane”. I have to go to the outside box for the fridge and tap on all the tubes/pipes to get the propane flowing again. I assume there is some kind of build up from contamination in the propane, but it doesn’t seem to matter where the propane is purchased, so it isn’t a quality issue. I have to admit I am getting tired of doing this once a week, and of course the stupid thing’s favorite time to shut down (and start the peep, peep, peep) is at 2:00 a.m. Does anyone have a solution for me? Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Maggie,

It could be a gas hose going bad. Is your refer in a slide that folds the hose up? I assume you are boondocking without an electric hook up.

They do, but if it tripped it would not run at all.

I guess you could call it boondocking, the fifth wheel is permanently parked on property we own. It is at an altitude over 10,000 feet, has been there for 5 plus years and never moved in this time. The really strange part is it starts up just fine after I gently tap all over the pipes and tubes in the outside access. It acts a lot like residue builds up in the curves of the tubing, and tapping makes residue let loose of the tube.

Sorry, didn’t answer your question. It is not in a slide, just next to one. (Two actually)

Seems like I remember a recommendation to adjust the gas system on units operated at high altitude. Sorry but I don't have more info on it.

Understand you do not have electricity to power the refer?

No, I work off of solar and Honda generators, use strictly propane for the fridge. When it works, it works great!
