Winterize

Delayed going south a couple of months. Never had to winterize before. Today drained low points, fresh water tank and ice maker line. Drained water heater. Turned BY Pass on, put hose on Winterize Inlet and put other end in jug of antifreeze. Turned on pump and went inside to open faucets. Pump came on, but would not pump the antifreeze. Can anyone offer any advice. I had the antifreeze on the basement and even held the jug level with the inlet.

I did finally pour the antifreeze in the fresh tank and turned on the pump..it moved the antifreeze and I winterized the unit, but I want to understand what I am doing wrong, or what the issue is with the unit. Thanks…don
